Free Eye Camp Schedule Prayagraj 2026
Indumati Netralaya conducts free eye screening camps across Prayagraj, Mirzapur, and Kaushambi districts throughout 2026. Camps include vision testing, cataract screening, and referrals for free surgery under Ayushman Bharat. Contact +91 8081565880 to request a camp in your village.
Every month, Indumati Netralaya takes its eye care services out of the hospital and directly into the villages and rural communities of Prayagraj, Mirzapur, and Kaushambi districts. These free eye camps are a lifeline for patients who cannot travel to the city, cannot afford consultation fees, and have never had their vision properly checked. Here is everything you need to know about our 2026 eye camp schedule and how your village can request a camp.
Districts We Cover
Our mobile eye camps operate across three districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh:
- Prayagraj: Urban fringes, Phulpur tehsil, Soraon, Bara, Meja, Koraon, and surrounding rural blocks
- Mirzapur: Chunar, Lalganj, Madihaan, Marihan, Majhawan, and surrounding tehsils
- Kaushambi: Sirathu, Chail, Manjhanpur, Sarai Akil blocks and village panchayats
We coordinate with gram panchayats, ASHA workers, block-level health officials, and CSR partners to identify high-priority locations where the burden of undetected eye disease is greatest.

What Happens at a Free Eye Camp
A typical Indumati Netralaya eye camp is a well-organised, half-day event that provides the following services in a single visit:
1. Vision Screening
Every patient who attends has their visual acuity measured using a standard Snellen chart. This takes only a few minutes and immediately identifies patients with significant vision impairment who need further assessment.
2. Refraction and Spectacle Prescription
Patients with refractive errors (short-sightedness, long-sightedness, or astigmatism) are examined by trained optometrists. A spectacle prescription is given on the spot. Spectacles are either distributed free of charge or made available at a heavily subsidised price through our charitable trust.
3. Cataract Assessment
Our ophthalmologist examines each patient for cataracts using a slit lamp and torch examination. Patients found to have visually significant cataracts are listed for surgery. Transport to our hospital in Prayagraj is arranged, and surgery is performed free of charge under Ayushman Bharat or our charitable programme for those not covered by the scheme.
4. Glaucoma and Diabetic Eye Screening
At selected camps, we also screen for glaucoma using intraocular pressure measurement and for diabetic retinopathy using fundus examination. Patients found to have these conditions are referred to our hospital for detailed evaluation and treatment.
5. Health Education
Our team provides health education sessions at every camp on topics such as eye hygiene, the dangers of delaying cataract surgery, the importance of diabetic eye checks, and how to access free surgery under Ayushman Bharat.
Past Camp Statistics
Since Indumati Netralaya began its rural outreach programme, the impact has been substantial:
- Thousands of patients screened since opening in September 2024 across Prayagraj, Mirzapur, and Kaushambi
- More than 2,500 cataract surgeries performed on patients referred from camps, the majority at zero cost
- Thousands of pairs of spectacles distributed free or at subsidised rates
- 300+ villages covered across Prayagraj, Mirzapur, and Kaushambi, many of which have no government primary health centre with a visiting ophthalmologist
- Glaucoma detected and treated in hundreds of patients who had no prior awareness of the disease
How to Request a Free Eye Camp for Your Village
If your village or gram panchayat has not been visited by an eye camp yet, you can request one. We prioritise requests from areas with large elderly populations, high rates of diabetes, or documented cases of untreated blindness. Here is how to request a camp:
- Call or WhatsApp us at +91 8081565880 and mention you want to request an eye camp
- Provide the name of your village, gram panchayat, block, and district
- Share an approximate population count and the nearest landmark or access road
- Our outreach coordinator will contact you within 48 hours to discuss logistics and scheduling
Gram pradhan support and a suitable open space or panchayat bhavan for the camp are helpful but not essential. We can conduct camps in school premises, community halls, or open ground.
For CSR Partners and NGOs
If your organisation would like to co-sponsor or partner on a free eye camp, we welcome collaboration. Corporate CSR funding, NGO partnerships, and individual donations all support our rural outreach. Donors receive an 80G tax exemption certificate through the Indumati Charitable Trust. Visit our CSR Partnership page or call us to discuss how we can work together.
